Welcome to Glacier Gammon! #
This site is where I will write my insights and lessons in backgammon. I hope you enjoy reading the contents as much as I enjoyed working on them.
Backgammon Primer #
If you’re new to backgammon, and you want to learn more: I suggest you read this Wikipedia page. It contains a lot of information and provides links and citations for further reading.
The US Backgammon Federation also has a page on how to play backgammon.
If you prefer to watch a video, Backgammon Galaxy has you covered (they have a more detailed playlist too):
It is important to note that the below video uses “anchors” to describe made points. The common definition of an anchor is a point made in the opponent’s home board.
Match Navigation #
Click here to learn how to navigate the annotated matches on this site. I believe it is easier to learn by example and experimentation, so the section itself is a sample match.
